 d Researcher Lane Dyer. This program will be held on Tuesday\, Oct. 24\, a
 t 5:30 p.m.\, in the museum’s auditorium. There is no fee to attend this
  program.\n\nJoin us to learn about “The Notorious Outlaw Lige Church”
  and other works by author Lane Dyer. A tale that began with basic genealo
 gical research has now been turned into a riveting book.\n\nA forgotten cr
 ime. A tale of murder and vengeance. “The Notorious Outlaw Lige Church
 ” is a true crime novel of 1880s Wilkes County based on extensive resear
 ch.\n\nAuthor\, columnist for The Wilkes Record\, and Wilkes County nativ
 e Lane Dyer will speak about how his efforts to research his family tree l
 ed him to discover a terrible and long forgotten crime.\n\nThe Wilkes Gene
 alogical Society\, Inc. was established by a local small group of interest
 ed people in 1967. Since that time\, the Society has published various typ
 es of genealogical materials and continues to collect and provide citizens
  with a wide array of materials for research endeavors. These materials ar
 e housed at the Wilkes County Public Library.\n\nThe Wilkes Heritage Museu
 m is located at 100 East Main Street in downtown Wilkesboro and is a priva
 te\, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history and 
 heritage of Wilkes County for future generations through exhibits and spec
 ial programs. All donations go towards the operational expenses for the or
 ganization. Regular museum hours of operation are Monday through Saturday\
