Jane Carter Ogburn
The genealogy research files of Jane Carter Ogburn were donated to the Wilkes Genealogical Society by J. Thomas Ogburn and are kept in the WGS Genealogy Room. Jane Carter Ogburn of North Wilkesboro was a dedicated local historian, genealogist and community leader who served on the planning committee for the town’s 1990 Centennial Celebration. After her passing, her husband, John Thomas “Tom” Ogburn, donated her extensive family history research to the Wilkes Genealogical Society, where it is housed as a foundational collection in the WGS Genealogy Room and earned her a place among the Society’s Benefactors. Her files are being scanned folder by folder; each folder below has its own page and every document is listed in the searchable index.
