About Us
The Wilkes Genealogical Society, Inc. was established by a local small group of people in 1967 who were interested in the origins of Wilkes families and the county’s history. Since that time, the Society has published various types of genealogical materials and continues to collect and provide citizens with a wide array of materials for research endeavors.
The Wilkes Genealogical Society, Inc is responsible for maintaining a collection of materials that enable users to study local and family history. It is located inside the Wilkes County Library.
We produce the Wilkes Genealogical Society Bulletin and other materials that we are now digitizing to bring the collection online for our members.
