Many of the works we publish were originally written on typewriters and submitted to publishers before the digital age. In many cases, the original manuscripts have been lost. We work to locate and reproduce the cleanest available copies.
Our editions are digitized and carefully restored using the best technology available, with the goal of improving readability while preserving the authenticity and historical integrity of the original work.
We do not currently rely on Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, as it can introduce errors and formatting issues not present in the source material. Instead, each text is carefully reviewed, and every word is checked against the original to ensure accuracy.
As OCR and artificial intelligence technologies continue to advance, we may begin to incorporate them when they meet our standards for accuracy and preservation. All materials remain subject to careful human review.
Illustrations, maps, and other visual elements are preserved to reflect the character of the original artifacts.
While every effort is made toward accuracy, minor imperfections may remain due to the age and condition of source materials.
All proceeds from publications support the Society’s mission, funding educational programs, preservation efforts, research, and future projects. The Society is operated entirely by volunteers, and no board member receives compensation.
We appreciate your support in helping preserve and share these historical works for future generations.
