Sister Tennessee Galispie
Sister Tennessee Galispie was born October 28, 1852. She professed a hope in Christ at the age of 20 years, and lived a consistent Christian Life, was liked by all that knew her. She filled her seat at Union Hill church almost to the last, when affliction overpowered her body, then she expressed her willingness to leave this world of trouble and suffering for a better world above. She submitted to death’s violent hand and was carried by angels to that beautiful land. “The pain of death is past, labor and sorrow ceased; Life’s trail closed at last, her soul has found peace.”

Now to the Church at Union Hill
God did speak and you must be still.
He took a member you loved well.
A seat is empty which on one can fill.
He harkened to the angel’s voice
T do the Master’s will.
Thanks be to God for the life he lived
Around old Union Hill.
He went without a shiver
Across the silent river.
His home is now with the blest
In their eternal rest.
Weep not companion, weep not children!
Your husband dear who was so near
Is now above the world of care.
A father too was so true is waiting now for you.
He’s gone where the writer saw brightness
The night we stood above the darkness.
He’s out scripted the writer in his lightness.
He is now satisfied with his likeness.
